Where do you plan to attend college? And what major(s) do you intend on studying?

The college I attend depends on which major I pursue. If I follow my scientific passions (such as chemistry/chemical engineering) I will apply to MIT, the University of Chicago, or Purdue. If I follow my musical and artistic passions (such as film and audio engineering) I will apply to Savannah College of Art and Design, The University of Chicago, or Carnegie Mellon.

What contributions do you plan on making for the team this year?

I plan to regulate the website, do presentations, work in the shop, and complete other, random tasks.

What were your reasons for joining Robotics?

I initially became interested in Robotics because of the Introduction to Engineering and Design class taught by Mr. Langfeldt. I found that I had a talent for applying my logical and mathematical reasoning in order to create an actual invention. Furthermore, I am very close with the 2009 team, which enabled me to attend two of their three competitions for several days last year. Being a witness to the Thursdays' practice and Friday's & Saturday's competition, made my interest concrete. I wanted to get that engineering and business experience, as well as develop teamwork skills. Most importantly though, I wanted to know what it is like to be a part of a team that accomplishes something.

How do you plan to use your Robotics experience this year in the future? Or what are you hoping to learn this year?

Hopefully, being a part of Robotics while in high school will provide me with the knowledge, not only of engineering but also teamwork and intense dedication, to make me a strong college student then leader in an engineering company.

Who is your role model? Why?

I have several role models. Tyler Leamon is an incredible worker, but remains laid back and non-demanding of others. He really works well with other students. Plus, he's the smartest human being I know. Daniel Bass is my other, most prominent role model. He exemplifies every quality that one could hope for: he works hard in school, he has an insane amount of knowledge about all technology, he's really dedicated to his friends and family, he constantly challenges himself AND conquers his new goals, and in despite of his ridiculous schedule he remains a fun loving and overall ideal person.

What are your favorite classes this year?

Obviously Robotics tops my list. However, I've really taken a liking to my photography course.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

I want to be immune to disease. As someone who's battled with a chronic illness, I know how frustrating it is to be afflicted by something out of your control. So along with my immunity, I'd like the ability to heal/immunize others.

What are your other interests outside of school?

I constantly play piano, writing new material and playing popular tunes by ear. Along with such, I sing.I sing. I sing. I sing. Not a day goes by that I don't belt out a few bars of some random artist or another. Aside from my artistic involvement, I rock the hula hoop and experiment with fire (safely, of course).

What are some of your favorite books, musicians, movies, television shows, etc?

My favorite novel is Bloodsucking Fiends. My music interests vary greatly. I listen to everything from Gregorian Chant, Marching Band, Techno, Opera, Folk, Metal, Punk, Indie...I don't necessarily pick genres or artists. Rather, I just listen to individual songs. I have recently become obsessed with a certain band though, for all their material is appealing to me. They're called Keane.

What are your favorite foods?

I am a vegetarian, so I don't like anything with meat obviously. I pretty much enjoy anything else, most specifically pasta, mashed potatoes, milkshakes, and any Greek, Italian, or Mexican food.

What is the farthest or most interesting place you've ever traveled to?

The farthest I've ever been is to Curucao, an island above Venezuela. The most interesting though, was Puerto Rico. The mix of American and Latin culture is incredible.

What would you want to be written on your tombstone?

I don't want a tombstone actually. I'd rather be placed in a family mausoleum decorated with paintings, neat furniture, and gorgeous plants.

Do you have a secret talent? What is it?

I'm really flexible, which isn't necessarily a talent. Ummmm, I can manually move my toothbrush faster than an electric one.

What is something about yourself that most people don't know or would be surprised to hear?

I ski at least 4 days a week during the season.
