Why did you become a mentor?

 It was presented to me by the Superintendent.  It sounded like something challenging and different.  Two things I thrive on!

What do you do to help the team?

 Try and coordinate all aspects of the team

What is your favorite memory with the team so far?

 There have been a lot of them, the most memorable probably being touring Dean Kamen's house.  There, we got a chance to speak with him one on one about FIRST and his many dreams for the future of our society/culture.

What is the best part of being a mentor?

 Seeing first hand the many accomplishments that a team can reach 

If you had to describe your experience as a mentor in ONE word, what would that word be?

 Chaos

What were you like in high school?

 I was very athletic and very focused on being the best at what I did (which was running and playing basketball). I was lucky enough to run at the college level and carry it over to being a professional triathlete for two years.  I had no intention of teaching or even having a career focused in math or science.

I have a very practical background.  I was lucky to have a dad that always took time to show me how things worked, ranging from residential construction, to commercial land development, to old car restoration.  My dad was definitely instrumental in forming who i am today.  Luckily i was able to find a career that mixes those few things i enjoy: being around people and being immersed in a technical field.
